About Us
What We Believe
We believe in one true God
We share the belief of all other Christians that the one true God has made himself known as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God loves all people
We believe that God loves every human being, even though none of us deserve his love. We believe that God’s deepest desire is to live in an intimate relationship with all people.
We believe in Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God’s Son. Because he loves the world, God sent his Son Jesus to make things right between God and us. Jesus took the blame for the sins of all people. Jesus died for everybody. Jesus also broke the power of death by becoming alive again. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Through him and him alone can people enter into a relationship with God.
We believe in the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the presence of Jesus Christ among us. The Holy Spirit always points us to the person and work of Jesus Christ. The Spirit empowers us and lives in us and equips us for service as his people.
We believe God’s forgiveness is a free gift
Because of Jesus, God has forgiven all sins of all people. God offers his forgiveness to everyone as a free gift. We don’t have to earn God’s forgiveness or pay for it. It is ours when we believe in Jesus as our Saviour. God offers us his forgiveness in the good news about Jesus, and in baptism and holy communion.
We believe what the Bible says
The Bible is the word of God. Through it, God reveals himself to us. The entire Bible is God-breathed and God-inspired. So we accept the Bible as the authority that decides what we are to believe and how we should live. We believe that the good news about Jesus is the key to the whole Bible.
We believe in the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
We believe that through the waters of Baptism, God comes to us to adopt us as His children. Through Baptism, God gives us the gift of new life. We believe in infant baptism. We believe that in the Lord’s Supper, Jesus’ body and blood are truly present to bring us forgiveness of sins and life now and forever. It is God’s unmistakeable way of saying again and again, ’ I am for you — for sure!’
